How to Start Planning – Plan, Act, Reflect, Repeat – Part 1

Plan …

Are you ready to take on 2024?

PLANNING is a big part of pushing any business forward so we find that this time of year can be quiet exciting as new ideas have time to form and we start putting things together ready to take action.

SO WHERE DO YOU START?

Truthfully, wherever you can! but if you do have something tangible from last year it is best to start there.  If NOT then start taking thinking and notes NOW.

Grab a page a day diary and scribble down your goals, what do you want to achieve by the end of 2024?.

Now focus on the TOP 3 THINGS that you can do in January that will make the most difference to your business.

Highlight these, underline them and then put little stars around it, as YES you do need to do these 3 jobs and not keep putting them on the back burner because they are too scary.

Next take a look at your business statistics from last year and make a note:

  • How many sales did you make and what was your profit?
  • What products made you the most profit?
  • What were your social media numbers?
  • How many people signed up to your Newsletter?
  • Write down any other statistics that you want to keep an eye on this year, so you have a starting point in writing.

Once you have done this, write next to it in a different colour your targets for January 2024.

This just gives you focus, something to aim for.  Interestingly it really does work! We find that wherever we focus our attention on a particular area, this area begins to grow – as soon as we take our eye off the ball then things start to drop off.  FUNNY THAT.

This emphasises that baby steps really do move you towards the greater goal.
